I've been doing a few reduction linocuts lately, and if I anticipate that a colour will show through the next colour on top of it then I create a mask (using acetate) so that the colour I am applying only goes where I want it to. One colour showing through the next can of course be used to great effect, but if you don't want it to......... Ink manufacturer's claims regarding opacity should be taken with a grain of salt. I have attached a photo of a mask used on a current project (if it works OK you can see it at the upcoming "Juxtaposed" exhibition - details will be posted on this blog in a coupla days)
